The Add On provides the primary member with a code to distribute to their team for use during registration. The primary member can also automatically register the child accounts during checkout.

This plugin currently requires Paid Memberships Pro.

Note: The Sponsored Members Add On is no longer in development and will be officially unsupported in 2025. This Add On is being deprecated in favor of the new Group Accounts Add On that replaces the code-based system in Sponsored Members with more features and no-code setup. There will be no new development on Sponsored Members.

How to install Plugin

  1. Upload the pmpro-sponsored-members directory to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory of your site.

  2. Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress.

  3. Create one level for paying account holders and one level for sponsored members.

  4. Edit the PMPROSM_MAIN_ACCOUNT_LEVEL constant in the plugin file to match your main account level id.

  5. Edit the PMPROSM_SPONSORED_ACCOUNT_LEVEL constant in the plugin file to match your sponsored level id.

  6. Edit the second half of the pmprosm_pmpro_after_change_membership_level() function to change the values of the discount code given to paying members.
